I recently stayed at YHA Byron Bay and had an absolutely amazing experience—it’s easily one of the best YHA hostels I’ve visited in Australia. The entire property feels new and modern, a big contrast to older YHAs. One standout is the kitchen facilities, which are top-notch. Everything you need is there, and it’s all clean and well-maintained. They also have washing and dryer machines on-site that are actually new and work really well—much better than the older machines you often find in other hostels. If you’re a digital nomad, you’ll love the dedicated co-working room with fast internet and plenty of space to set up a laptop. Every table has a plug for charging, which can be hard to find in some hostels. It’s comfortable, quiet, and ideal for getting work done. When you need a break, there are tons of cozy spots around the hostel to relax and unwind. During my stay, I joined the lighthouse tour organized by the YHA staff. They were super friendly and helpful, and it was a fun way to meet fellow travelers and explore the local area. The hostel also hosts plenty of events, so there’s always something social to look forward to. Overall, YHA Byron Bay is a fantastic choice—perfect for travelers who value cleanliness, modern amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re there to enjoy the beach, work remotely, or just take in everything Byron Bay has to offer, this hostel ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended! https://youtu.be/xM1u4QVIYwE?si=VvcLg8K5P5rHEKaf

We stayed in a private room - as a couple and a third wheel, the layout was perfect for us. The private WC and shower was great and very clean, as was the room. The private bathroom had body wash, shampoo and conditioner available to use. The beds were comfortable with well-placed outlets below the light for the bed. The AC in the room works well and kept us comfy overnight. The communal areas were wonderful, it's just a shame that the weather was awful and did not stop raining as I would have loved to use the pool! The staff were very friendly and happy to offer local recommendations. The reception offers surfboard hire (we did not use it but it was there). Just around the corner is a bakery with amazing pies, highly recommend grabbing breakfast there :)

I stayed at the hostel for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were kind, the location was ideal—close to shops, restaurants, and the beach—and the room was clean and peaceful at night. Each bed had its own power outlet, light, and locker, and I stayed in a 4-person shared room with a private bathroom. The hostel offers convenient services like storing bags after check-out and providing a free pass to shower before leaving town, making it easy to enjoy the beach even after checking out.

The property is very spacious with a clean pool, lots of sun chairs and a gigantic open-air kitchen with lots of stations so many people can cook at once. Staff were super friendly and gave me a visitor key so i could shower, leave my bags in storage and hang out until check in. They have a nice indoor area too for movies/rainy days. The rooms had huge lockers with shelf space inside which made getting stuff in and out convenient, plus they sold locks for a really good price.

Great hostel central to Byron Bay. We had a private room with bathroom and its was clean and quiet. The hostel is good with lots going on either at their one or the one up the road. The kitchen was quite small making it difficult to cook at times but a little bit of patience and somewhere will free up. Only issue is they close for cleaning for an hour or so each day but started 30/40 mins early a few times during our stay so had to wait over an hour for it be used again.
